About the route

Starting our adventure in the quaint village of North Wraxall, we venture southward, tracing the winding river through the enchanting woodlands of Colerne Park and Monks Wood towards Slaughterford. Despite its ominous name, Slaughterford surprises with its serene green fields and Cotswold stone cottages, offering a pit stop for refreshments.

Continuing along the river's course, we reach the famed village of Castle Combe, renowned as "the prettiest village in England," where we can pause once more to take in the beauty of this chocolate-box village.

Our journey then takes us along the scenic footpath by Manor House Golf Club, before we loop back to North Wraxall via the charming village of West Kington.

Finally, we celebrate our achievements with new friends made along the way. They'll be a bite to eat and a glass of fizz waiting for you at the finish line!

Fundraising commitment

We would love our hikers to try and raise a minimum of £150 – enough to provide an hour of vital respite care.

This hour, facilitated by dedicated nurses and carers, offers exhausted parents a much-needed break from the demands of round-the-clock care, and a chance for a child with complex medical conditions to have fun in a safe and loving environment.

We’ll send you a complimentary Julia’s House moisture-wicking t-shirt as a thank you for your fundraising efforts and you'll have unwavering support from a dedicated contact at Julia's House, who can share a wealth of fundraising ideas and tips to help you reach your goal.

Remember: While your entry fee covers the cost of organising the event, it's the additional funds you raise that truly make a difference to Julia's House and the children and families we support.

Have the experience of a lifetime and give families like James' a lifeline...

“Julia’s House is a happy place. It’s a home. You don’t really think of it as a hospice. Sometimes you become aware that they are supporting another family with their child’s end-of-life at the hospice, and that really brings it home to you that one day that could be you. But it’s a place that helps you make the most of life, and helps you appreciate everything you have.”
