Jessamy Keily
Jessamy is a Dorset artist specialising in ocean-themed artworks inspired by her love for the sea and its magical life.
Jessamy’s daughter, Elodie, has Edwards Syndrome and is cared for by Julia’s House, so this project is incredibly meaningful to her. She hopes her beautiful artwork will enjoyed by everyone who sees it, as a representation of Julia’s House and all the families it looks after.
‘To the Light’ centres on a sunburst in the middle of the tail, with rays of light spreading across and down, symbolising energy and radiance. The title is a hopeful reminder to be optimistic and look for the brightness in every day.
This project means so much to me, as an artist who's work focuses on the ocean; but especially as a Mum to a daughter who is supported by this hospice. Julia's House have been a real life line for our family for the past two years while we navigate life with a baby with a life limiting condition and all the hardships it brings. I am so honoured to be able to do something to help raise some important funds for them as well as put my mark (and my daughter's!) on the beautiful Great Tail Trail.
