When the worst happens, we are there…
Our Care team is here to help the whole family come to terms with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, right from the point of diagnosis. We are also here at the end of child’s life offering emergency respite and overnight care 24 hours a day.
Whether a child is in hospital, at home or parents choose to use the Mermaid Room at our Corfe Mullen hospice or the Pegasus Room in our Devizes hospice, they can take comfort from having friendly, familiar faces around them, supporting them at this difficult time.
Bereavement support
Our involvement with a family does not end with the death of their child. We can continue to be there for up to five years, offering bereavement support for parents and siblings. We also contribute £750 towards memory making activity.
Our nurses and carers put together a memory box for each child as a memento of their time at Julia’s House and every year we hold a Remembering Day in our Dorset and Wiltshire hospices which is open to all our bereaved families. It’s a chance for us to reflect together on happy times shared with some very special children.
