When you donate items to our shops, we can claim an extra 25% on top of the sale price—at no extra cost to you or the buyer—once you’ve signed up for Gift Aid. And the best part? Signing up is completely free!

How does Retail Gift Aid work?

Every donation you make to Julia’s House—whatever its value—could be worth even more at no extra cost to you, simply by choosing to Gift Aid it. Through this scheme, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) adds 25p to every £1 you donate. And if you’re donating items, we can claim an extra 25% on top of the sale price in our shops.

Step 1: Check if you are eligible to claim Gift Aid

You can apply Gift Aid to your donations if:

you’re a UK taxpayer
the money or items you’re donating belong to you
the tax you pay that year is at least equal to all your donations to any charity.
