Paola’s daughter Chiara died of a brain tumour in 2010. She was the first child in Wiltshire to benefit from our service and was cared for at home by Julia’s House nurses during the last six weeks of her life.  Paola’s experience was pivotal in winning support for our Wiltshire Hospice. She remains a vocal ambassador for Julia’s House, spreading the word through her work as a Pastoral Manager at a local secondary school and at fundraising events.

“Julia’s House made things seem normal for us in our last few weeks.  The nurses cared for Chiara and made her smile, giving comfort to us, while we went about our daily lives for a moment. The aftercare we received lasted years providing therapy for us and our elder daughter. We will never forget the help we were given and every day strive to give something back through support and fundraising.”
