Debbie was appointed as Treasurer Trustee in 2025.

Debbie started her career initially as a Mathematics Teacher in Surrey. She changed career joining Her Majesty’s Customs and Revenue (HMRC) initially in Surrey before relocating to HMRC’s International Division in London. From there she moved to KPMG Accountants in London. Debbie has been a partner at KPMG since 2003 primarily focused on international tax issues. Since 2020 Debbie has led a specialist group assisting the KPMG audit practice with the audit of specialist tax issues. Debbie continues in this role on a part-time basis.

Debbie has three children and three stepchildren along with two grandchildren and two more on the way. Following Debbie’s youngest finishing school Debbie and her husband, Mark, relocated from Surrey to Wimborne in Dorset in 2024 with a view to an active retirement!

Mark’s family business has been heavily involved with supporting the Sam Beare adult hospice in Woking over a number of years and this has given Debbie a detailed insight into the funding challenges for hospices across the UK. On moving to Dorset, Debbie was keen to get involved in the community and saw the role of Treasurer Trustee at Julia’s House as way of having a positive impact on the community in Dorset and of course Julia’s House in Wiltshire.

“I am very excited to be starting my Trustee journey with Julia’s House. I am hoping to leverage my knowledge and skills in supporting the outstanding Executive team and wider Finance team at Julia’s House as they navigate the complexities of fund raising and financial management in order to deliver the vital hospice services in Dorset and Wiltshire.”
