The time it takes will depend on your pace, but as a guide:

  • Full marathon: 7 – 12 hours

Take your time, enjoy the stunning scenery and remember, it’s about the experience as much as the distance!

Do I have to collect sponsorship money to take part?

Your registration fee gets you on the walk, but your fundraising is what truly changes lives. Every pound you raise helps Julia’s House give local children and their families the chance to share magical memories, even during the toughest times.

We’d love everyone taking part to try and aim for at least £150 and this year, your impact is doubled! Thanks to the generous support of Malmesbury League of Friends, all fundraising will be match funded up to £10,000.

Why Julia's House?

Julia’s House is your local children’s hospice, providing specialist care for children with life-limiting and complex conditions.

Childhood is precious and for the children we care for, every moment counts. Your fundraising helps us give them the chance to simply be children, creating magical moments and treasured memories, while giving families the support and respite they need.

By taking part in the Wiltshire Walk, you’re helping make these moments possible. Every step you take brings joy, comfort and care to local families when they need it most.

Is there an age limit?

The minimum age for The Great Wiltshire Walk is 16, and all walkers must be at least 16 on the day of the event. If you’re under 18, you’ll need permission from your parent or guardian before you register, and they’ll need to complete a permission form to confirm this.

If you’re taking part under the age of 18, you’ll also need to walk with a registered adult who is happy to fundraise alongside you.

Is the Great Wiltshire Walk accessible?

We aim to make The Great Wiltshire Walk as inclusive as possible and will do our best to support participants with health conditions or disabilities.

However, please note that our routes are not wheelchair accessible.

If you have any questions about accessibility or specific needs that could help make the walk more comfortable for you, we encourage you to get in touch with us at events@juliashouse.org.

Can I bring my dog?

You’re welcome to bring your dog, as long as you’re confident they can manage the distance, you take full responsibility for them, you are mindful of other walkers, and they are kept on a lead where required.

Please note that if you’re taking part in the half marathon, you will need to make your own way to the start, as we cannot guarantee the coach company will allow dogs.
