Be the Voice of Julia’s House in Your Community

Julia’s House relies on the incredible support of the public to fund 92% of its care. That’s why raising awareness in the community is so important—and why volunteers like you play such a vital role.

If you enjoy meeting people, getting out and about, or simply want a flexible way to make a difference, this could be the perfect opportunity. You can give as much or as little time as suits you, with activities that easily fit around your day-to-day life.

How You Can Get Involved

Bucket Collections
Be a friendly face for Julia’s House in supermarkets or local town centres. You’ll manage donations, chat with the public, and help spread awareness of the work we do. You can volunteer on your own or alongside others, and we’ll provide everything you need.

Collection Can Coordinator
Take ownership of some collection cans in your local area. You’ll build relationships with shops, businesses, or cafés, check when cans are full, swap them over, and return donations to the hospice. A simple role with a big impact.

Flyering
Help spread the word by delivering leaflets in your local community as needed - perfect for fitting into a walk or your daily routine.

Promoting Events Online
Support us from home by sharing events and updates on local social media groups and community pages, helping us reach more people.

A Role That Fits Around You

This is a highly flexible opportunity - you choose when and how often you get involved. Whether you have a few hours now and then or want to support regularly, every bit of time makes a difference.

All equipment and materials are provided, so you can get started with confidence.

What We’re Looking For

  • A friendly and approachable manner
  • Good communication skills
  • A polite and welcoming attitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliability

What You’ll Gain

  • New skills, with full training provided
  • Valuable experience for your CV
  • A boost to your confidence and wellbeing
  • Opportunities to meet people in your community
  • An enjoyable and rewarding way to spend your time
  • The knowledge that you’re making a real difference to local children and families

No experience is needed, we’ll support you every step of the way.

And if you’d prefer not to commit regularly, you can also sign up as a one-off volunteer for specific events that interest you.
