Volunteer with Julia’s House – Be Part of Something Meaningful
Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice charity, is inviting friendly and motivated volunteers to support the sort room at our welcoming shop in Warminster.
Working behind the scenes, you’ll play a crucial role in transforming generous donations into vital funds that help support local children with complex medical needs and their families. Every item you handle helps make that care possible.
The Role: Sort Room Support
This is a hands-on and rewarding role in our stock room, where you’ll be involved in:
- Sorting and organising donated items as they arrive
- Steaming and preparing clothing for display
- Tagging and pricing stock
- Getting items ready for the shop floor
Your contribution keeps the shop running smoothly and ensures donations are presented at their best.
When You Can Help
We’re currently looking for support on:
- Monday afternoons (1pm – 5pm)
- Tuesday afternoons (1pm – 5pm)
- Friday afternoons (1pm – 5pm)
We understand that everyone’s availability is different, so we’re happy to be flexible—just a few hours a week can make a real difference.

Julia’s House is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and our aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our clients, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. Based on our current staffing profile, we have identified that there is an under-representation of: (a) individuals of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, so would especially welcome BAME applicants for any of our vacant positions; and (b) males, so we would welcome male applicants for any of our vacant positions and specially for any care and nursing roles.
