Make a Difference in Your Community – Volunteer with Julia’s House
Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice, is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our Swindon retail shop. Our charity shops play a vital role in raising funds for local children and families, and we couldn’t do it without the dedication of our volunteers.
Sort Room Support (18+)
We are currently seeking volunteers to help behind the scenes in our stock room. This role includes:
- Processing donated items
- Steaming and tagging clothing
- Preparing stock for the shop floor
Your support helps keep the shop running smoothly and directly contributes to the care we provide.
Cash Desk volunteer:
- Serving customers at the till with a smile
- Providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Handling purchases and answering questions
- Supporting the team to keep the shop running smoothly
When We Need You
We are looking for support throughout the week, Monday to Sunday, with the following typical shifts:
- Monday to Saturday: 9am – 1pm or 1pm-5pm
- Sunday: 10am – 1pm or 1pm-4pm
We understand everyone’s availability is different, so we are happy to be flexible. Even a few hours each week can make a huge difference.
What We Are Looking For
No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided. We are looking for volunteers who are:
- Friendly and reliable
- Willing to learn
- Able to work independently
- Keen to be part of a supportive team
