Join Our Bransgore Team – Volunteer with Julia’s House

Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice charity, is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the friendly team at our shop in Bransgore.

Our shops are at the heart of the community, raising vital funds to support local children with complex medical needs and their families. Whether you enjoy meeting people or prefer working behind the scenes, there’s a role for you.

How You Can Get Involved

We’re currently looking for volunteers to support us in two key areas:

Till Operatives
Be the welcoming face of the shop. You’ll serve customers, handle transactions, and help share the story of Julia’s House, raising awareness of the work we do.

Sort Room Volunteers
Work behind the scenes to sort and prepare donations, helping turn generous contributions into items ready for sale on the shop floor.

When You Can Help

We have a range of flexible shifts available throughout the week, with particular need for support on:

  • Tuesday (morning or afternoon)
  • Thursday (morning or afternoon)
  • Friday (morning or afternoon)
  • Saturday (morning or afternoon)

If you have a few hours to spare, we’d love to find a time that works for you.

Why Volunteer With Us?

Volunteering with Julia’s House is a rewarding way to spend your time while making a real difference. It’s an opportunity to:

  • Build confidence and develop new skills
  • Gain valuable experience for your CV
  • Meet new people and feel part of a welcoming team
  • Stay active and engaged
  • Support children and families in your local community

What We’re Looking For

No experience is needed as full training will be provided. All you need is:

  • A friendly and approachable attitude
  • Reliability and a willingness to learn
  • Confidence to work with others and independently

Make Your Time Count

Every hour you give helps us continue providing essential care and support to local children and their families. If you’d like to be part of something meaningful and rewarding, we’d love to hear from you.

Get in touch today to find out more or to join the team.

Julia’s House is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and our aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our clients, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.   Based on our current staffing profile, we have identified that there is an under-representation of: (a) individuals of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, so would especially welcome BAME applicants for any of our vacant positions; and (b) males, so we would welcome male applicants for any of our vacant positions and specially for any care and nursing roles.
