Influencing, informing and lobbying for better care

Julia’s House has led national research with Bournemouth University into the impact of regular respite breaks on parental separation. The results from this four-year PhD study across England and Scotland are informing our national lobbying efforts to enhance respite support for all families with a very seriously ill child.

To aid this lobbying, we now want to research the effect of respite breaks on family mental health, and to compare what mental health treatment would have cost the State without that support from children’s hospices.
