Actors Martin Clunes, Guy Henry and Debra Stephenson added some celebrity sparkle as readers at the annual Julia’s House Carols by Candlelight concert on Monday 3rd December.
Ticket-holders were also joined for the third year running by AFC Bournemouth manager and Julia’s House Patron Eddie Howe, who once again popped up as a surprise guest at a packed St. James Church, Poole, all in aid of the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice charity.
Valerie Singleton and Johnnie Walker headlined at St James’ Church, Shaftesbury on the 5th December.
At both Dorset concerts, guests enjoyed a festive mix of music, carols and readings followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Tickets proved very popular as a chance to meet some local star actors and celebrities who are supporters of Julia’s House.
Community Fundraising Manger Laura Kelly said: “There is always such a lovely, warm atmosphere at the carols by candlelight concerts. Christmas is all about family and we really feel like our family is coming together for Christmas at these events. The church is filled with the children and their mums dads and siblings, our very supportive Patrons and our kindest supporters who are all there for the same reasons of good will. It was a wonderful event!”
All concerts helped to raise just over £20,000 for the care of Julia’s House children and families.
