£1000 raised by Shutterbabes from St Mary's School

January 23, 2019

What a great start to the year! On 16th January, a group of pupils from St. Mary's School in Shaftesbury visited our Dorset Hospice to present Community Fundraiser, Sarah, with a cheque for an incredible £1000. Shutterbabes, the school’s photography enterprise group, fundraised throughout the year by selling cards and calendars and carrying out photoshoots.

One of the Shutterbabes, Meg, spoke about their visit: “After initially feeling apprehensive, the whole experience of visiting Julia’s House was amazing and made us realise how wonderful the people are that work there”.

Maddie, another member of the photography enterprise group, said “Going to Julia’s House was an eye-opening experience and made us feel lucky that we have the lives that we do and reminded us not to take anything for granted.”

Fantastic job Shutterbabes! We are thrilled that you chose to support us and we're so glad that you enjoyed your tour of our Hospice. Thank you from all of us at Julia's House.
