First Julia's House Wiltshire charity shop to open in Salisbury

September 4, 2017

We're excited to announce that we are opening our first Wiltshire charity shop in Salisbury.

We're moving into large premises at The Bridge, Fisherton Street, formerly Pampered Pets. The shop is big enough to showcase larger items of furniture as well as the usual stock of high quality clothes, bric-a-brac, books and toys.

We already have 10 stores across Dorset, each with a distinct, modern boutique feel. Shop fitting to create the Julia’s House ‘look’ in Salisbury is due to begin shortly ready for a grand opening this autumn.

We will be looking to replicate the style of its Dorset flagship store at Creekmoor which features room sets to show off furniture and home accessories.

The Salisbury shop will act as a central warehouse and recycling centre for donations in Wiltshire and we'll be offering a free collection service to people wanting to donate large items like sofas, tables and beds. Although the shop is not ready to accept donations yet, people can pre-register if they would like to book a collection.

We are currently recruiting for staff – including a manager and assistant - plus volunteers to help man the shop.

Retail manager Tracy Stanley says: “We are really excited to be moving into Wiltshire. Salisbury is a fantastic city and a great location for our first shop.

“With our new children’s hospice in Devizes it seemed the perfect time to expand into Wiltshire. We look forward to our new shop playing its part in supporting fundraising for local families with life-limited children. It will complement the excellent work already being done by our Salisbury Friends’ Group.

“The success of the store will rely on the generosity of the local community in donating items for us to sell so we hope people having a sort out or a house clearance will think of us.”

To pre-book the collection of a donation to the new Julia’s House shop please call 01202 601998.
