On Saturday 20th July we held our annual family BBQ, this year in the gorgeous grounds provided to us by the Earl and Countess of Chichester.
After a very soggy set up on Friday, we were lucky enough to have the sun shining so the families could enjoy the array of activities available! The families were thrilled to be able to have portraits done by a caricaturist, visits from the lovely resident camels, donkeys and ponies, and many of the children were able to have pony rides around the grounds!
The children were fascinated by the crystal juggler and enjoyed all of the crafts, with face painting and giant bubbles to step in! There was ice cream and a hog roast, and a wonderful band for everyone to dance along to whilst enjoying the sunshine.
With such a beautiful venue, the families had a goody bag and picnic blanket to find a comfy spot to relax and watch all the fun - plus the competitive archery that went on!
The families had a wonderful time in Mr MacGregor’s garden, choosing parcels from the pots and sweeties from the tea room! The sensory team were busy with fun and songs, roaming the event and spreading laughter as they went.
Many thanks to our amazing volunteer photographers Simon Ward and Jon Bolton, the Earl and Countess of Chichester for their beautiful grounds and helping to plan the day, Superior for their sponsorship, and all the wonderful volunteers and staff who helped out!
