Lockdown has been challenging for Julia’s House Young Ambassador Ebony but cuddles with Trixie and hopes of soon being able to eat her favourite vegetable ramen are keeping her going…

How long have you been in lockdown?

I have been in lockdown for 9 weeks now. I am shielding so haven’t been out of the house at all in all that time.

How are you finding lockdown?

I have my good days and bad days, but I am trying to stay positive.

What are you missing the most?

I am really missing my friends and family and being able to go outside and walk my dog, Trixie. She’s a springer spaniel so needs walks twice a day, she’s really energetic.

What’s the hardest thing about lockdown?

Its hard as I’m shielding so can’t go outside at all. It’s hard when I can see people outside of my front window going for exercise and a change of scenery. But at least I have my back garden.

What are you doing to keep yourself busy?

I have been watching a lot of Netflix, have been doing word searches and colouring. Also a lot of naps as sitting around makes me very tired.

How are you staying in touch with everyone?

Thanks to Zoom and social media I have been able to be in touch with friends. I have been doing quizzes and just chatting.

How has lockdown made you feel?

Some days I wake up and feel really depressed. It’s so hard to snap out of it and stay positive for my family.

What have been the most important things for you during lockdown?

One of the most important things is my new wheelchair which came just before lockdown. It tilts and reclines so I’m not really in pain when I’m in it. Of course, my phone – I can’t live without my phone. My dog Trixie for cuddles and my crazy mum and dad!!

What are you looking forward to the most when lockdown is over?

This one’s funny. Getting away from my crazy family!! Going to see my friends. A little bit of normality. Also I really need a Wagamama’s vegetable ramen.
