Charlotte bought her dream wedding dress from the bridal room at our Creekmoor charity superstore. Here she explains why a budget price tag doesn’t have to mean a budget experience…
I had heard about the Julia’s House bridal boutique through word of mouth, so when Tom and I started planning our wedding I decided to visit. I’ve never believed in spending hundreds of pounds on a dress and have always been a lover of charity shops. Giving something back and considering environmental impact is really important to me.
The moment I stepped through the door I was well cared for. Nothing was too much trouble for my bridal assistant and I felt really listened to. We worked through body shape, colour and style to pull together a list of possible dresses. I was dress shopping on my own so I really valued her opinion. I tried on about 12 in total but the dress I ended up buying was number 2 on the list – as soon as I put it on it was love! I felt amazing in it.
I didn’t imagine for one minute that I would find my dress and all my accessories (full-length veil, shoes and a fur cape) in one place – but the bridal boutique had everything I needed. The veil complemented the dress so well. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the bridal team at Julia’s House. The assistants genuinely care; they are honest and don’t give you the hard sell. Plus when you buy from a charity it means you are giving something back, too!
Charlotte and Tom’s wedding took place at Wimborne Town Hall on 16 November 2019.
