Trustee - Nursing (with a background in children's nursing at a senior level)

Closing: Ongoing Salary: Unremunerated Contract Type: Temporary

Job Description

Julia’s House has a vacancy on its Board of Trustees for someone with senior experience of children’s nursing, preferably at management, commissioning or director level, and with a practitioner background qualified in children’s nursing.

The charity provides respite care and end of life care at home and in our hospices for children with life-threatening or life-shortening conditions, as well as family support services. Our main strategic challenge is to fully expand our services across Wiltshire, whilst maintaining their quality and range in both Dorset and Wiltshire.

Julia’s House also leads national research, into the impact of respite care on family breakdown, to assist in lobbying for greater provision of respite support by the State.

The Board meets six times a year. Clinical Trustees are also encouraged to attend the Clinical Governance Group. Board Members may serve for up to two terms of three years each. The position is unremunerated but expenses including travel may be claimed.

Julia’s House has an Outstanding CQC rating and is a former UK Healthcare Charity of the Year.
