Philanthropy Fundraiser

Wiltshire

Closing: Ongoing Salary: On application Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 35

Job Description

This is a permanent position based in Wiltshire – initially in Amesbury - until our new Hospice opens in Devizes, Wiltshire in Spring 2017.  A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential.

Julia’s House is the first children’s hospice in Wiltshire, providing practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.  We tailor our care to the needs of each individual child and their family, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at our hospice.

Julia’s House has launched a three-year organisational strategy, making it an exciting time to be part of the charity. The strategy is based on developing our services across two counties – Dorset and Wiltshire, continuing to provide respite care to children and their families.  We have big aspirations to ensure no child is turned away from our care and are looking to develop our fundraising team, to help us achieve our ambitious goals.

The new Philanthropy Fundraiser will identify, research and build relationships with major donors in Wiltshire. You would also co-ordinate a programme of high-level fundraising events to generate income and raise awareness of our work, along with helping to manage the Wiltshire celebrity and Patron portfolio. Fundraising experience is essential and you will have proven experience in at least one (and preferably two) of the following areas: major donor, legacy, corporate or trust fundraising.

You will be a self-starter and highly organised, with the ability to work on your own initiative and remotely, while also being willing to work closely with fundraising colleagues from other teams and share leads appropriately.   The role requires willingness to undertake travel throughout Wiltshire when required and attend regular meetings with the Poole-based Philanthropy team.

Interviews for this role will take place week commencing 21st November
