This is a permanent position, based at our main office in Poole, Dorset. A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential.
Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. We provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. We tailor our care to the needs of each individual child and their family, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at our hospice. We recently launched a three-year organisational strategy, making it an exciting time to be part of the charity. The strategy is based on developing our services across two counties – Dorset and Wiltshire, continuing to provide respite care to children and their families. We have big aspirations to ensure no child is turned away from our care and are looking to develop our fundraising team, to help us achieve our ambitious goals.
Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, you will have experience of direct marketing, ideally in both the recruitment and retention of donors, and experience of running and managing your own campaigns from start to finish. You will have responsibility for running a variety of campaigns and appeals that make up the supporter development programme, with a clear objective to retain individuals by providing excellent stewardship and donor care. Making our donors feel valued is of the utmost importance. This post will grow income across all individual giving retention channels, help us better understand our donors and improve data management across the whole organisation.
Ideally you should have a successful track record within a fundraising direct marketing environment and proven experience of cross-channel marketing in the charity sector, using a range of on-line and offline channels. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of direct marking principles, the fundraising sector, data protection regulation and industry best practice.
You will be a self-starter with the comprehensive project management skills necessary to deliver a wide range of complex campaigns, within agreed timescales and budgets. In particular you will have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and possess a genuine passion to see Julia’s House succeed in achieving our objectives.
