Can your school go the extra mile?

Extra Mile

The Extra Mile, is a new fundraising concept which not only benefits Julia's House, but also schools taking part, as well as encouraging children to take up exercise. Here's Julia's House patron Chris Jarvis to tell you more...

Each child in the school commits to run, skip or hop a mile on a date and time to be decided by the school. This can be undertaken as part of a PE lesson and each class can compete against each other to raise the most sponsorship.

How do schools benefit?

Julia's House are very aware that schools also need to raise funds for valuable equipment and resources, this is why all money raised for Extra Mile is split 50/50 between the school and Julia's House.

What do the children get for their efforts?

Julia's House will provide each school with an Extra Mile pack containing sponsorship forms, a bespoke medal for each child and a trophy for the class who raises the most money.

Our Sponsors

We would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors Superior for supporting the Extra Mile. Their sponsorship means that all money raised and donated by schools will go directly to the school and Julia's House. We are hoping that Extra Mile will allow Julia's House to fund a nurse.

Last year Springdale First School were the first school to take part in the Julia's House Extra Mile. They raised an incredible £6,209.78, half of which came to Julia's House and the other half will be spent on a new outdoor learning centre for pupils.

Here are the school council leading the way...
