Cerne Abbas Giant

Join us for a half-marathon hike to Britain’s largest chalk figure, the Cerne Giant – it’s certainly a sight to see! With incredible views over Cerne Valley and charming Dorset villages, this route is one of our all-time favourites.

We’ll finish with a delicious meal and glass of fizz at The New Inn in the heart of Cerne Abbas. This beautiful 13th century former coaching inn is the perfect spot for a post-walk celebration!

How to get involved

Registration fee: £30
Start: 8.30am at The New Inn, Cerne Abbas (this is a circular route)
Distance: 13 miles

Your registration fee includes: A qualified guide to lead the way, support staff and a celebratory meal at The New Inn to mark the day.

This hike is limited to 30 participants so book early to guarantee your place.

Hike for Wondergirl Carmela

Carmela has muscular dystrophy, meaning her muscles weaken progressively as she gets older. However she doesn't let it get in the way. Carmela is a keen horse-rider and swimmer, although sadly during the COVID pandemic, her lessons have been cancelled.

Without her usual school routine, exercise and therapy sessions over lockdown, Carmela has found mobility more challenging and it has also meant she is in almost constant pain.

Julia’s House has kept Carmela smiling with regular visits to her home to provide emotional support and respite care, plus lots of laughter and even dressing up! Carmela tries to stay upbeat but it has been hard at times.
