Think BIG. Big routes, big climbs, big vistas…The Big Ride really does live up to its name! Upsize your cycling experience in 2021 and choose a ride that winds its way through some of the finest countryside in Dorset and Wiltshire.
We have a choice of three circular routes – the classic 50 or 100 mile routes and – new for 2021 – a 25 mile option. You’ll follow undulating roads with some challenging climbs, but your reward will be breath-taking panoramas over Salisbury Plain and Cranborne Chase.
All our routes start and finish at Horton and Chalbury Village Hall, a beautiful converted barn near Wimborne with lovely views across the surrounding countryside. It’s the perfect spot for an end-of-ride celebration – there will be a delicious hog roast and a pint of beer waiting for you!

If you would prefer to make a personal donation instead of fundraising you can add this to your registration fee when you sign up.
If you choose to fundraise, we would love our riders to try and raise £200. This could pay for a day's care for a child like Isabella, giving her mum the chance to go out and meet friends so she can feel less isolated.
We’ll send you a free Julia’s House cycling jersey as a thank you for fundraising for us.
Remember: Your entry fee covers the cost of organising the event but it's your donation or the money you raise on top that will make a difference to Julia’s House.
Your entry includes
We really look after our riders – we will be there every step of the journey with personalised support, training tips, on-route refreshment stops and a medal for finishers! The routes are fully marshalled and signposted.
Other extras include maps and downloadable GPX files, chip timing, refuel stops with water and snacks, support vehicles and a delicious hog roast and pint or prosecco at the finish line! We’ll have veggie or vegan alternatives available too.
We are confident that by October 2021, things will be back to normal. To ensure everyone’s safety, we will take all the necessary Government precautions on the day and in the unlikely event of the ride being cancelled, we will provide you with the route so you can ride in your own time or offer you a full refund.
The care for local families and children is continuing – they need your support now more than ever.
