Companies

There are endless ways that your company and your employees can support Julia's House. Whether through a large fundraising event, payroll giving, smaller ongoing activities such as cake sales or mufti dates, or donating much needed items and services, everything will help the Dorset children and families that need our help.

Every happy moment is precious, and so is every donation.

Raise funds for 6 new nurses

In 2009 we need to provide 6 new nurses to care for life-limited and life-threatened children in Dorset at an approximate cost of £250,000. See how other companies in Dorset are working with us to achieve this.

Could you and your colleagues take on a fun challenge to help the children of Julia's House?

Could your company raise vital funds for Julia’s House?

Whether you are an employer or an employee, you can make a very real difference to the children that Julia’s House looks after. You can support us in so many ways – by giving through your payroll, donating a percentage of your sales, holding a large scale fundraising event or with small ongoing activities such as cake sales or mufti days – every penny makes a massive difference.

We are frequently approached by companies who would like to volunteer their time in a tangible project – unfortunately as a small hospice, opportunities such as these are limited.

We rely heavily on funding to deliver the thousands of hours of care that we provide to life limited children in Dorset through our team of 85 highly skilled nurses and carers.

Putting the ‘Fun’ into Fundraising

Fundraising for Julia’s House is both fun and rewarding. We have a number of Corporate Friends who regularly get together both in their own company and with each other to plan fundraising events.

Recent events have included a 650-mile office to office cycling challenge by LV=, a fundraising day and evening at Nationwide and a fitness challenge at Abbey Life. As well as all of that, the Julia’s House Corporate Friends Beach Fun Day takes place in July every year. All Dorset companies are invited to plan and participate in a beach fun day with fun activities including volleyball, a water assault course and sandcastle competitions. The day is always a huge success, raising over £10,000 for Julia’s House!

We also run a number of challenge events throughout the year, from abseiling the water tower in Poole and regular tandem sky dives to a 3 Peaks trek in Spain this year – please see our challenge events page for more information.

Giving through your Payroll – a little goes such a long way…

Payroll giving is such a powerful way of raising funds – bringing together small donations from a large number of colleagues to make a very real difference, for example: If 60 employees donated just £5 a month through their payroll (less than the price of half a pint of beer each week), in a year this would add up to a massive £4320 for Julia’s House! This would fund a part-time carer for 6 months!
