SENIOR TEAM NURSE - HOSPICE
35 hours per week.  Salary: Third Quartile Band 6

A Paediatric nursing qualification is essential for this role (RSCN/RN (Child) or similar).

Insight into caring for children with complex medical conditions and/or learning disabilities is desirable but not essential, as there will be training opportunities and wide scope for development within the role.  This position requires availability to work shifts and rotas, including weekends and occasional overnights as required.

A full driving licence and access to own transport is essential.

Existing members of the NHS pension scheme may retain membership on joining Julia's House.

LOTTERY CANVASSERS

Field-based across Dorset.  Commission paid.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Dorset community enrolling players to the Julia's House Lottery, raising significant funds to support the charity's work.  We are looking to recruit Lottery Canvassers to increase Lottery membership through canvassing door to door, at corporate venues, commercial premises and on promotional stands at shows and events.

TRUSTS FUNDRAISER

21 Hours per week
Salary £15,822 per annum  (£26,370 FTE)
Based at our main office in Poole

RECEPTIONIST
We are looking for a friendly and reliable receptionist to provide a professional first point of contact for our fundraising office.

Key tasks:
  • Answering the phone & directing calls
  • Dealing with all enquiries
  • Greeting visitors
  • Taking messages
  • Stationery ordering
  • General admin and clerical support
  • Ad hoc tasks
Skills needed:
  • Good customer service
  • Good standard of computer literacy including microsoft
  • Basic admin skills
  • Able to prioritise and use initiative
  • Good attention to detail

Hours required
A minimum of one morning or afternoon a week, 9am - 1pm or 1pm - 5pm. We can be slightly flexible on times if needed.

Training provided.

Start date: 25 June in Poole

SECRETARY

We’re looking for an experienced secretary to attend our Clinical Governance meetings at the Hospice, take notes and then produce minutes.
The meetings are a couple of hours long and take place every six weeks. It also takes a couple of hours to produce and circulate the minutes.

You will need:
Good listening skills
Good level of Word
Some shorthand would be preferable but not essential
Able to retain confidential information

LOTTERY PROMOTIONS ASSISTANT

Julia’s House, The Dorset Children’s Hospice is looking for volunteers to help promote the Julia’s House lottery which has been launched to raise vital regular funds.

As a volunteer Lottery Promotions Assistant, you will be responsible for:
• Setting up and manning the lottery promotional stand at pre-arranged events
• Handing out leaflets
• Enlisting new members
• Distributing promotional materials to local shops and businesses

Skills required:
• Bubbly and out-going personality
• Ability to communicate with wide-range of people
• Sales and promotion experience preferred
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Good organiser
• Good Listener
• Numeracy and literacy skills

This position will require you to work at various events and locations throughout Dorset.

VAN DRIVERS & DRIVERS' MATES NEEDED

We are currently in need of van drivers and drivers’ mates to make collections and deliveries to our nine charity shops throughout Dorset.
We are looking for strong, fit and personable volunteers – perhaps a student, or someone semi-retired – with a full driving licence who would be willing to give up a little time once or twice a month.
Ideally applicants need to live in the Poole/Broadstone/Wimborne/Corfe Mullen areas within easy reach of our van which is kept at our Poole offices.
Volunteers need to be capable of lifting  - sometimes heavy furniture – as the work involves a lot of manual handling as well as driving.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIST
Julia’s House provides free Complementary Therapies for all of its families.
There is currently a vacancy for a volunteer massage therapist to join the team.  The person would need to be fully qualified and insured with at least 3 years experience and will need to have a CRB check.
