Then fill in the online payment form to set up your Direct Debit, alternatively you can pay online by Credit or Debit card or download and print a membership form and post it back to the Freepost address.
You can take part in the Weekly Lottery for as many weeks as you wish. If you want to cancel at any time all you need to do is get in touch with Unity or your bank.
You have the option to pay in three ways by Direct Debit, credit or debit card or cheque. You must be 16 or over to enter and be resident in Great Britain. Once we receive your completed membership form we will send you an introduction letter with your unique 6 digit Unity Lottery number. This is the number which will be entered into the draw each Saturday provided your account has at least £1 in it at the time. How often does the Lottery draw take place?
The Weekly Lottery takes place every week, on a Saturday.

How will I know if I've won a Weekly Lottery prize?

All winners will automatically be notified by post and will receive their winning cheques at the same time – so there’s no need to claim. Winners' cheques are posted out 2nd class on a Monday after the Saturday draw.
The winning Unity number will be published on the results page of Unity website or alternatively you can call the Unity winners hotline on: 0870 055 2291.

How do you pay me my Weekly Lottery winnings?
We will send you a cheque.

How do I cancel my Weekly Lottery Direct Debit?

You can cancel at any time by contacting either Unity or your bank directly.

How do I increase my number of weekly chances?
You have the opportunity to have up to a maximum of twenty chances every week, at a cost of £20 per week. You'll find all the details you need on the membership form on our Weekly Lottery website.

Can I pay for a fixed period of time?
You can pay by cheque starting at one chance for £13 for 13 weeks. If you wish, you can also pay for your Weekly Lottery with a monthly, quarterly, half yearly or annual Direct Debit payment, which you can of course set up and cancel at any time.

Why is my monthly cost £4.34?
If you pay for one chance a week, the monthly cost breakdown is £4.34 for playing the Weekly Lottery. This is based on paying £1 per week over a 52 week year. Your Direct Debit will only be collected once a month. Sometimes there are five weeks in a month and the additional £0.34p is to build up credit to cover the fifth week on these five week months.

What day is my Direct Debit collected?
There are four collection dates for Direct Debit’s 1st, 8th, 16th and 24th of the month unfortunately unlike a standing order you cannot choose which date due to the electronic importing/exporting of Direct Debit files, you will be entered into the next available draw.

Do I have to renew my membership year on year?
If you have signed up to an annual payment of £52 with a Direct Debit then this will be collected automatically each year unless you instruct Unity or your Bank to cancel this Direct Debit instruction. If you have paid by cheque for £52 then we will write to you when you have £4 credit remaining to remind you if you would like to renew your membership.

Are my Weekly Lottery payments eligible for Gift Aid?
Your Weekly Lottery payments are not eligible for Gift Aid.

Do you accept entries from syndicates?
Julia’s House Weekly Lottery is aimed at individuals. However if you wish to represent a syndicate and act on behalf of them, we would accept your personal details. All winnings would be paid into your account. You will need to arrange a syndicate agreement similar to the National Lottery syndicate agreement. click here

How are the winning numbers generated?
The Unity winning number is generated by an external source over which Unity and Julia’s House have no influence. Unity use a random number generated by the Australian National Lottery Super 66 Game. The draw chooses 6 numbers randomly from 0-9, Unity will publish the winning number on the results page on their website each week and winners will automatically be sent their cheques through the post.

Can I still play if I live in Northern Ireland?

Below is an extract from 'The Law on Lotteries in Northern Ireland' - Reference 6.5
"Tickets in a Great Britain society's lottery may not be lawfully sold in Northern Ireland by a person in Northern Ireland. The law in Great Britain and Northern Ireland does not prevent the sale of a GB society's lottery ticket by post or telephone to a person in Northern Ireland."
In simplified terms the Weekly Lottery cannot be promoted or sold by any person who lives in Northern Ireland but it is legal for someone in Northern Ireland to take part in the Weekly Lottery as the website is administered on mainland UK, and the form is sent in the post.
